Commedia dell'Arte Teachers Workshop
03/07/2014
Commedia dell'Arte is a theatre form that originated in 14th century Italy and involved performers using beautiful handmade masks and improvised comedic acts to inspire tears of laughter in the audience. The influence of Commedia dell'Arte persists in present-day theatre – and even in TV shows such as The Simpsons, Monty Python's Flying Circus, and Mr Bean!
This summer, YAF is very excited to present a teacher workshop led by Australian director of young peoples’ theatre, Joan Morgan, who will share the history and techniques of this fantastic theatre form.
Take part in a fun, practical workshop and learn creative practices and exercises that are easy to employ in the classroom. Suitable for all drama teachers, this workshop will cover techniques that focus on the use of body language, and the creation of humorous stories and dialogue around simple scenarios.
To register, please fill in your details here and submit by 25 June 2014
